my bank of america credit crd debt was sent to the er solutions collection agency and the bank of america Representative gave me the number to call the agancy. i called, we agreed by phone to a settlement of $587(on a $820 balance). i paid the settlment directly to the bank of america branch. i called back the collectiion agency and gave the representative the transaction number on my reciept. she said everything was fine now . she also told em to go to free credit report.com and get specifically a experian credit report ,which i did and then she asked for my address to which she would send a letter to me .. that i would have to send to the credit bureau.i dont quite remeber what it was for. it hasnt been sent .. and ive called back 3 times n the same lady always says im so sry and ask to verify my adress and she will send another one.i paid the settlement on april 15th it is now june. i dont kno what to do ? any ideas or advice? im pretty sure im being scammed but i dont know how to fix it. i stil have the reciept from bank of america as proof that i gave them the settlement. i dont kno if that will help me though
thanks mar c .i will defintely call BOA tonight..but.. im still scared that maybe BOA doesnt know of the settlment amount.what if they dont know and they dont know it was for my account. because it was charged off(as stated inmy credit report)..What if they still want me to pay the balance? how will i kno? i havent recived any BOA statements. i just want to be sure everything is fine….And should i be concerned about not recieving that letter from ER solutions?

as long as you paid directly to boa…you are fine…takes time to clear up….follow up with them weekly…

ok I hate to say this but if you paid bofa then they should not be linked to a collection agency unless it is a internal collection agency. Now also if she told you got directly to experian that does not make much sense you need to get all three reports unless they just report to experian. I do believe you may be getting jacked around here!! You said you paid directly to bofa branch but then say you dont know if they know of the settlement amount. Whenever you talk to a collections agency any settlement you make you need to get them to send you in writing they are accepting that amount for total payoff or else they can say they no nothing. My suggestion call them back and have them send a letter to you saying they accepted that payment for full closure of the file. And it should if in a collections not be attached to bofa at all!! I just recently started a blog on credit and you can check it out may save you in the long run.
Good luck and write me on my blog for more help!!

For starters, you should get the written settlement agreement BEFORE you pay. After you pay, it’s too late. Don’t expect to ever get that letter. A few years down the road, you may get a call from a collection agency looking to collect tha balance of the account. Without a settlement agreement, you will have to settle the account all over again.
It is very unusual that a collection agency directed you to pay at a BOA branch. But at least you know the payment went to your account. Maybe you should ask BOA to give you a statement on that account.
If you signed up for credit reports at FreeCreditReport.com, be sure to go back and cancel that trial membership you signed up for. You can access your annual free credit reports from each of the credit bureaus thru AnnualCreditReport.com.
You should wait till August before checking your credit report to make sure the account is updated. It should now show settled.
